Welcome letters are sent to parents and students prior to the beginning of the school year.
A school newsletter is sent home monthly, which gives parents tips on improving their child’s achievement.
A student policy handbook will be provided in the fall.
Regular progress reports will provide parents with information on individual student achievement and mastery information by grade level for reading, language, and math.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer.
Parent surveys are used to obtain suggestions involving school programs; timely responses to these suggestions will be provided.
Home and phone contacts will be made as needed.
Meeting notices – fliers, newsletters, and an announcement bulletin board will be used.
Meetings
Regular PTSO meetings are held to plan parent and staff involvement activities.
The school will partner and meet with community groups and the school’s Pencil Partners to improve student achievement and foster parent involvement.
An annual parent meeting and monthly PTSO meetings are held to give parents the opportunity to participate in planning and improving the school-wide improvement plan, the parent involvement policy, and the parent-school compact.
Student performance and expectations will be discussed during planned conference days.
Transitional meetings will be held to help students and parents transition from the previous tier to the current tier.
Provide parents with an explanation of state academic content standards and academic assessments information.
Description of Active Parent Participation
The RPMS staff will provide programs to promote parent participation in order to improve the school-wide program both on a routine schedule and by parent request.
Parents will be involved in planning, reviewing, and improving the school-wide program and parent involvement policy.
Parents have an opportunity to volunteer, participate in their child’s class, and observe classroom activities.
Parent surveys will be used yearly to update a parent resource file.
